Character information…

Full name: Jack Torrin
Nickname(s): Ogre, Beast, other size-related comments.
Species: Human
Sex: Male
Age: Looks to be about 18
Occupation: Giant

Place of origin: A small labor camp in the mountains.
Place of residence: Inverse City.
Main Hangouts: Everywhere. He tends to wander.

Physical description: He is 6'9, 295 pounds. He has dark blond hair that is shaved close to his scalp, and hazel eyes with a gold ring around the pupil that seem to bore into ones very soul. His body is heavily muscled, and covered with tan skin that is strangely unmarred, with one exception. A stern look always covers his face, and his voice is dark and deep, to the point where it sounds like gravel speaking, though this may be attributed to the two inch scar on his throat. His hands are heavily callused.
He is typically found in a pair of dark grey brigga, a sturdy pair of leather boots, a light grey tunic which is belted tightly, a billowing grey cloak, and a plain silver band on his left ring finger. A pewter medallion hangs from his neck.

Personality: Jack is concise, and gets straight to the point. A reasonably honest fellow, he does not try to deceive unless there is a great need. He is stalwart, though some would call him stubborn. As a result of his upbringing, he does have a soft spot for those in need, and will do anything in his power to help them. Also, while he may not speak much, his eyes show most of his emotion for him, ranging from seething hatred to profound sympathy. All in all, he is a quiet but loyal companion.

Past history: Jack was born and raised in a mountain labor camp. From an early age, he felt the bite of the whip down in granite mines, where he was to cut blocks for shipping throughout the various parts of the known world. Had he not been as naturally powerful as he was, his life would have been brutally short, but by the time he eight, he was as strong as a pack mule. Since this was true, he was used as such.
Such was the life of Jack. But the taskmasters knew that he would be trouble; the fear and pain in his eyes slowly turned to anger, and hatred. By the time he was eighteen, Jack was enormous, and covered in rippling muscles from his work.
The talk of the other "workers" had finally gotten to him. He rebelled. One day, he caught the leather strip as it swung toward him, pulling it and a taskmaster to the ground. In his final moments, the fallen master realized how sharp Jack was; the whip was around his neck like the yoke of an ox, and he was disarmed before he had a chance to defend himself. As a final show of humiliation, Jack used the whip as a yoke, having the master lead him to a storeroom, where "the Ogre" snatched up conveniently well-fitting traveling clothes, and some other handy equipment.
His previous captor looked at him, telling him he would never get away with it; that he would be caught, and executed like the dog he was. With a tug of the whip, Jack broke his neck and ran. By the end of the day, he had incapacitated four of the twelve slavers, and managed to free a handful of other workers, but not before a dagger had caught him across the throat. The others carried him and fled into the mountains, bandaging him with the supplies he had taken and traveling hard for days.
And so, when they all went their separate ways, Jack found his way to Inverse.

Often-used Phrase(s): "…" "As you wish." "Of course."

General skills: He is a competent stonemason, as a result of his unusual upbringing. Also, in the few short weeks after his escape, he has become a sturdy brawler. His size doesn't hurt him there. He has amazing deductive skills, but doesn't have much practical knowledge.
Special abilities: Animals don't seem to consider him a threat. There is some sort of unspoken agreement: "You don't bother me, I don't bother you." Also, he heals quickly, which is self-evident, as while his throat is scarred, the rest of his body is not.

Likes: Wandering (he's been a forced worker for his entire life, without the freedom to move around much), music (he's never heard anything but commands and talk of rebellion), heavy lifting (strangely enough), hard work, tree gum.
Hates: Forced labor, whips, being underground.
Fears: Being caught.
Defects: Pessimistic, independent.

Natural weapons: Fists.
Other weapons: None.
Items usually held:

Pack (on back); extra suit of clothes, small steel pot, wool blanket, bedroll, a few days rations, small range of stonemasonry tools, coil of rope.
Belt (on waist); Flint and steel, wineskin (half full of water), large knife, small pouch with a handful of silver and copper coins, pouch of tree gum.

Special possessions: Silver ring and pewter amulet. The only thing he's kept from his parents, who he never knew, and he claims they give him strength.

Pet(s): None.
Friends: None.
Enemies: Slavers.

One-line summary: Freed giant without a cause.
