Physical description: Marc is just under 6'0" with pale skin and blue eyes. He has muddy coloured brown spiky hair with a tint of purple. He's quite skinny and deceives others by looking quite weak but he is in good health and fairly strong for a mere human.
He wears loose blue jeans and a matching denim jacket over a black T-shirt. Most of the time he wears a thin flak jacket hidden under his T-shirt. On the left side of his waist is the sheath where he keeps his sword. His trainers are black with three yellow strips down either side and he wears a plain black baseball cap. He normally brings the cap peak down to hide his eyes. He uses 'Lynx: Voodoo' deodorant body spray.

Personality: A kind-hearted and quiet guy, who is rarely even noticed by people on most occasions. He tries not to show much emotion or get too close to anyone due to something that happened in his past that is unknown by anyone else. However his heart normally gets in the way and he fails at this. He can seem quite nice to friendly people and quite the opposite towards those who oppose him.
He tries not to fight random monsters and demons unless he has too but at most times he has no choice especially since he chose the path of a hunter. He has always thought of himself to be weird, someone who has the traits of a gentleman even in this era. Not only that, he feels he should do good and so became a hunter to help humanity, little did he know he was going to be the chosen one, a role he feels compelled to fulfill.

Past history: Marc was taught combat skills by his father and at the school of Inverse. He found that even though he had a strong interest in magic, the ability to wield it was not in his blood even though one of his ancestors was a great sorcerer. While at the school he met Nicole Bright who was learning about her magic and the two got on very well, even facing some demons together.
When he reached the age of 16 he became a hunter for the guild but didn't just abide with the organization, he also took jobs from 'good' demons and other beings if he thought they were worthy and the targets were not human.
As Inverse was the center of all the chaos and more and more monsters were appearing, Marc's parents and brother decided to move over seas to England, but Marc decided to stay and continue his job.
When he reached 17, Marc fell down a hole in the Misty Forest and into a cave. While trying to get out he found a sword buried in the ground. When he removed it a sprit was awakened and told him that the sword was in fact Jinken, the legendary weapon from many myths. He was told that it was the key to defeating the God-Beasts that would appear if evil overran the Earth. He was the so-called 'chosen one' and after a while Marc decided to accept his destiny to take on the greater evils if they appeared. As he did this, what little magic he had was awakened to protect him as his life from then on was going to be harder than expected.

Skills given by being 'chosen' (can charge Jinken with the element of Darkness, good defence against magic attacks, protection from psychic intrusion).

Fears: Big huge spiders (more dangerous in this era). Rejection. To lose someone he loves.
Defects: No good sense of direction. Quite shortsighted without his glasses. Bad aim with guns. Bad cooking skills. Doesn't attack female or human-like enemies unless necessary. Marked (has the aura of the 'chosen one' that high-level demons can sense). Caring and defending for people he classes as friends (seen as a defect in this era).

Natural weapons: None.
Other weapons: The sword, Jinken. The legendary and 'unbreakable' sword that can be charged by elemental magic such as fire or ice. If Marc has enough energy he can use the sword to cut through the air and create a vacuum, sonic-boom like projectile like Devon can with his claws. The sword can not be wielded by anyone else except Marc unless he wishes it himself. To anyone else the sword would start to feel extremely heavy before encasing itself in a small force field that would send a powerful unknown element attack into the stranger and reflect most attacks. The sword will teleport to a location in the Misty Forest if it is ever fully lost or by Marc's command.
Items usually held: Wallet in right jeans pocket; Bank and ID cards. Money from successful jobs (mostly used to gain information).

Special possessions: A black wrist guard on his right wrist with a spell cast on it to give a little extra defence against all magic type attacks. At home he has a laptop nicknamed 'Kiki' with Internet connection.

Guide: Raito (often simply called 'Rai' by Marc. It's unknown if Rai actually has a sex but Marc refers to it as a male). On some occasions an insubstantial representation of the elemental of light will appear to guide Marc. It comes in the form of a small orb of white light. It can not effect physical objects or talk but it can communicate to Marc and others with telepathy. (The telepathy with Marc isn't done with words from Raito, but rather shapes or pictures that his mind will translate).
It can emit a strong light at the cost of some of its energy as it partially enters the real world for a moment, and can also charge the Jinken with the element of Light/Holy. Raito can attack and be attacked but only on an astral/psychic level.
As it is just a representation it can not actually die but it can be exhausted. If it runs out of energy from attack or skill usage it will disappear and will not return for at least an hour and when Marc is in a safe area. The quicker it reappears in the mortal realm the weaker it will be, to fully recharge from total exhaustion would take 21 hours.
Raito and Marc have a very strong connection, it shares Marc's memories, emotions and can read his mind which helps a lot when in battle as Rai rarely needs to be commanded.

Pet: Pepper 2. A small female rat with white and black fur kept at home. The white fur and her tail look likes it's been sprinkled with brown pepper, hence the name. This is the baby of the original Pepper who was taken with Marc's parents to England.

Misc: Marc's parents were originally from England and although he has lived in Inverse all his life he has an English accent.
As said Marc can now charge Jinken with the element of darkness (level 1), which is basically pointless as most demons aren't effected by the element and some even absorb it as energy. He would have naturally had the element of Light/Holy as he is the chosen one, however because of an incident that happened to him in his past, before he found the sword, the element within him changed.
Sadly it's doubtful I would bring in any of the God-Beasts as their destruction would just spread across all the post threads but the entire continent if not the world. Besides Demon Lords are hard enough to handle. However, I'm thinking about it…
Ouh, the real 'Raito' might appear then. ^^
