NPC information…
Full name: Bobby Alexander
Jackson
Nickname(s): Momoko
Species: Meliadae (fruit-tree dryad)
Sex: Female
Age: 15 (mid twenties physique)
Occupation: Unemployed
Place of origin: Elberton,
Georgia
Place of residence: Amongst trees or atop buildings.
Main Hangouts: Forests, parks, fields, rivers, lakes, seashores and high
places.
Physical description: Hair is an odd mix of tresses that range between blonde, strawberry blonde, and the more prevalent red; and is full, fine and lustrous down to the small of her back. Her eyes are a vibrant blue. Skin is fair and blemish resistant (not proof). Secondary sex characteristics are above average as far as appealing goes, which is not unusual among her kind. Her height is 5'6", and her weight is, normally, 100 lbs. She is often seen wearing loose denim overalls over a white t-shirt, with no underwear, socks or shoes to speak of.
Personality: Quite carefree and genial. Her curiosity gets the better of her most times, but she's always cautious. Tends to be reflective when she has nothing better to do. She's a hard one to anger, especially if that is what is trying to be accomplished. She is very respectful, unless she has a bout of playfulness (harmless fun). Very strong willed and hard to perturb. Sometimes, though rarely, she can be found to be less than cheery for no obvious reason.
Past history: Lived with
her father on a peach orchard, and was expected to raise, care for, and harvest
peaches with her father (which she didn't). In July of 2014, a month before
harvest, her father found a tree afflicted with armillaria. Her father made
it clear he was going to remove that tree and others surrounding it to prevent
the disease from spreading, much to the horror of the meliades whose very lives
were tied to those trees.
While her father was absent, she consulted the meliades for a better solution,
and got one: to concentrate on the removal of the disease, so when her energy
was being siphoned, it would have a purpose the meliadae of the tree could support
with her magic. The process left her very tired, and when she was more cognizant
of her environment, she quickly learned that she had been made a meliadae with
a fully-grown peach tree nearby and in the centre of four others.
When her father returned and saw the tree that mysteriously appeared out of
sequence and proximity of the rest, he became enraged: the meliades, to him,
have always been a nuisance since they were released from their wooden prisons
after The Breaking; he was going to lose money by removing several trees and
treating the soil, and now the meliades had enlisted his only child (however
much of a disappointment she was) into their ranks. In his attempt to chop down
his child's tree, the other meliades, who were very protective of her, killed
him so he couldn't return to threaten them.
Often-used Phrase(s): "Peachy." "Well, whenever you need your cover blown..."
General skills: Light on
her feet and good at escape, she's better at diversions and evading injury.
As long as it isn't complicated, if she puts her mind to it, she can execute
throws, attacks and manoeuvres she has seen before. Fast reflexes. Being both
a spiritual and physical entity, all her memories are crystal clear and she
never forgets.
Special abilities: Materializing peaches out of nowhere; which she either
gives for those to eat, or uses to distract, confuse, or anger a demon. Can
make temporary use of traits that trees have (solidity, retractile branches,
being firmly rooted in spot, etc.). Her magic, which is more assistive than
anything, can render her weightless when she needs to be. She's empathic and
can see auras, as well as communicate with other nature spirits. Her only strong
offensive spell, flare vine (a whip borne from the sun's energy), can only be
used when her energy reserves are near full, and it leaves her weary and vulnerable
afterward.
Likes: Freedom. Conversing
about trivial (and sometimes silly) things. Being in someone's company, even
if she has to follow them because they are avoiding her. Being pessimistic just
for the hell of it. Any location that's natural and corrupted little by humans
and demons alike. An occasional meal.
Hates: Restriction. Two dozen separate assaults in one day. Pollution.
Being ignored.
Fears: Being attacked in the water (she can float, but she cannot swim
because she never learned how). Being raped. Having her magical amber stolen
or destroyed, which she hides on her person. Having her tree die. Beings overwhelmed
by a demon or demons. Having no one to turn to for support or comfort.
Defects: In the gloom of day or pitch of night, her radiant appearance
draws unwanted attention; so evil beings constantly attack a seemingly easy,
innocent and pure-looking target with abandon. Also, her appearance affects
people in a way that makes it hard to find "just friends" (with males),
or friends at all (with females), and it makes her depressed and homesick. Can
only be "unanchored" from her tree as long as she has her magical
amber. Receives headaches after "downloading" information from helpful
spirits on the "grapevine."
Natural weapons: None.
Other weapons: Glaive
(beginners skill level).
Items usually held: Fallen leaves and cones for spells.
Special possessions: A magic amber, which allows her to travel anywhere
from her tree. It's very important to her, so she keeps it hidden from prying
eyes and possible loss or destruction. Memories of her mother.
Pet(s): Barnyard cats back
at home.
Friends: Anemone. Countless nature spirits, as
well as both wild and domesticated animals.
Enemies: None that she knows of, but the demons are beginning to annoy
her.
One-line summary: Unimportant, demon-attracting dryad.
Misc: Searching for her mother, who had supposedly left her father shortly after she was weaned.
